John 4:23,24 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. (24) God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

While on a missions trip to Guatamala I learned what worshipping God in spirit and in truth meant. We were in our first church service and it was all in Spanish. Not knowing the language I found myself lost in trying to figure out what was going on instead of worshipping, when I noticed that one of my friends was worshipping as if he had been there all his life.  When there was a pause in the music I commented to him how impressed I was with his understanding of the language. To my surprise he said, “I don’t know the language, just worship in spirit”. When I stopped focusing on the music and began to focus on God I began to enjoy the presence of God in a very powerful way. All God wants is for us to be real with Him in true worship and He will respond with a powerful visitation of His presence.  May we all worship God in spirit and in truth is my prayer.
