Joel 2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand.

Years ago I purchased some chickens for our farm. When I bought the flock there was of course a big tall Production Red rooster. He was beautiful but he may have been the dumbest rooster ever. For some reason he would fly up in the tree behind our bedroom at night and would start crowing at 2am. Every hour or two there after he would crow. It was the most annoying thing ever. We couldn’t get a good night’s sleep with that rooster on our farm so eventually he became chicken and dumplings. The rooster that was supposed to be a good morning alarm clock became nothing more than an annoyance. That may be where the church is right now; we’ve heard the alarming message of God’s judgement for so long that is has become nothing more than an annoyance to us. We’re encouraged in the Word to “hear what the Spirit says to the church”. Listen carefully for the alarms that God is sounding and be ready to obey Him. Don’t let a few false alarms keep you from being ready when He calls. May our ears be tuned into what God is saying is my prayer.
