Revelation 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

A true relationship is a two way street. If we really are in a personal relationship with God we must listen to what He is saying. Our prayers should consist not only of talking but of listening to what God has to say as well. The Laodicean Church had become self-reliant. They had slipped into the place where they didn’t need God’s help and failed to listen for His voice. This frame of mind had taken them to a place of spiritual lukewarmness. They weren’t necessarily against God, but they certainly weren’t actively seeking God either. Our God is a jealous God and He will have nothing and no one before Him, including ourselves. May we make God our first priority in life is my prayer.
