2Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Thomas Edison made over 1,000 attempts at making an incandescent light bulb before he finally got it right, changing the way the whole world sees after dark. Without his efforts we might still be burning oil lamps at night. The battle we are waging against the lust of the flesh is not easy and it is one that must never be taken lightly. Every time we let our guard down satan comes in like a flood, making us feel like a failure. When Edison was asked about his 1,000 failures he responded that these were not failures because each time he learned another way how to not make a light bulb. We can not allow our often failures to keep us from the pursuit of holiness. We must  constantly be looking for ways to succeed at being like Jesus. May we move forward in our pursuit of holiness is my prayer.
