Romans 6:12,13 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. (13) Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Although some of the signs along the highway are annoying, they’re there for a reason. Without road signs everywhere two roads met there would be constant collisions. The yield sign tells the person seeing it that they must allow the oncoming traffic the right of way. If no one yields someone could die. Our spiritual life is the same way. If we yield our selves to sin, sin will produce death. If we yield ourselves to righteousness, it will produce life.  The choice of what we yield is ours. Our spiritual destiny is in our hands and it is determined by our yielding to the right things. As the enticement of sin comes to us we must resist the lust of the flesh and yield to the leading of the Spirit. When the Holy Spirit speaks to us we must yield to His voice and resist the rebellious nature of the flesh. This is the battle of the flesh and the spirit and what we yield ourselves to will be the winner. May we yield ourselves to righteousness and allow the Holy Spirit to create in us holiness is my prayer.
