Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
When our children were about 6 and 8 years old we took a vacation in Colorado. While out sight seeing and visiting an old mining town we found ourselves several hours from our hotel late in the afternoon. These were the days before cell phones and GPS so I broke out the trusty Atlas and decided to take the scenic route that was only 26 miles long. Two hours and many bone chilling moments later we made it to our hotel. That was the most dangerous road I’ve ever driven down in my life and it literally terrified my family. Let’s just say that not every short cut saves you time and it might cost you your life. When making decisions in our spiritual lives we must always be sure that they are guided by God’s Word. The Bible will lead us in the right way and keep us from the pitfalls of bad decisions. May the Word of God be a lamp unto our feet I pray.
