Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts.

The key to spiritual success is change. For us to become what Christ intends for His Church to be we must allow the Holy Ghost to change us. His desire is to lead us into Christ’s nature; love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Sounds like a long list of things we struggle to be, and the  truth is we will never achieve them without the help of the Holy Spirit. Self-help books may provide some level of improvement but they can never do for us what the Holy Spirit can. He will change us from the inside out. He replaces our hatred with love, our sadness with joy, our anxiety with peace, our impatience with longsuffering, our roughness with gentleness, our bad tendencies with goodness, our doubt with faith, our overbearance with meekness, and our loss of control with temperance. What a difference He will make in our lives if we will follow His leadership. May we allow the Holy Spirit to change us today is my prayer.
