Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

It stands to reason that if Jesus was tempted by the devil, then we will be tempted by him as well. That shouldn’t come as a surprise to you if your serving God, after all, the devil is out to steal, to kill, and to destroy. The good news is this, Jesus overcame every temptation the devil threw at Him without ever sinning. Satan tempted Christ’s power, His authority, and His humanity and failed every time. That’s why we can overcome temptation today. Because our High Priest has been victorious, He has paved the way for our victory. We can follow Christ into the wilderness if necessary, and do so, without falling prey to sin. As you traverse through life today, keep your eyes on the author and finisher of your faith and He will see you through every temptation.  May we stay focused on Christ and overcome sin is my prayer.
