Zechariah 1:6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers?

It seems like everybody I meet these days is consumed by something. Whether it’s their fishing hobby, their gambling addiction, or their obsession with food, everyone seems to be overtaken by something. It’s as if things just grab ahold of us and we can’t get rid of them. It might be a good time to ask yourself this question, what has a hold of me? Our forefathers were held by the word of God. It had grabbed ahold of their hearts and they were sold out to God. If anything is going to have a hold on us, it should be God’s Word. Read it, study it, live it, but let it get a hold of your heart. When it has a hold of us, it will change us into the people God intends for us to be. May we get ahold of God’s word and let it get ahold of us is my prayer.
