Requirements?

Micah 6:8 He hath shown thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

For some reason there are a lot of “christians” today who do not think that God requires anything of them after they prayed the salvation prayer. I’m not sure why this is because it becomes very obvious as you read scripture that God requires much of us. Micah lists a few things that God requires; to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God. All characteristics of God that should be developing in our lives as the Holy Spirit leads us into the nature of Christ. Our inequities should be replaced with justice, our callousness replaced with mercy, and our pride replaced with humility. If there has been no change in our life, there is no way we are following Christ. Following the Savior means taking on His nature and adopting His ways. May we walk closely with Christ and allow Him to change us into His image is my prayer.
