Galatians 4:4-6 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (5) To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. (6) And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Since my grandson was old enough to recognize the TV we have been watching the movie “Despicable Me”. It’s a story about 3 orphaned sisters who are adopted by a professional criminal named Gru. The story line twists and turns through a series of events until Gru falls in love with the girls and commits himself to them forever. That’s really the story of mankind. We were lost in our sins and alienated from the Father. Jesus came to us, lived a perfect life among us, and died on the cross for us so that we could be adopted into the family of God. All we have to do is receive His invitation into the family and all of the inheritance of Heaven becomes ours. May today be the day that you commit yourself to the lordship of Christ and take your place in the kingdom of God is my prayer.
