Psalms 18:6 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

With the epidemic of stress that has swept across the world, people are turning to anything they can find to give them some relief. From tobacco and alcohol, to over the counter sedatives and illegal drugs, people are grasping for peace and destroying their lives with bad choices. The psalmist knew the right place to go to for real peace; God! When we call out to Him He hears us and moves heaven and earth to help us. If God is not your first response to stress you’re turning to the wrong thing. Make Him your first response to trouble, let Him know that you need Him and can’t make it without Him. Pour your heart out to God and He will answer your cries. May we learn to lean on God as our source of help and peace is my prayer.
