Genesis 23:15

“My Lord, listen to me; a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? So bury your dead.”

This act of kindness by Ephron showed that his relationship with Abraham was more important than any difference of opinion they might have. How many times have we allowed some petty little thing to destroy an other wise good relationship? Our desire to be right, our insistence on having our way, or our elevation of the value of things more than people will hurt our relationships. May we focus our attention on others and not allow anything to damage our relationships is my prayer.
