Genesis 50:28

All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them. He blessed them, every one with the blessing appropriate to him.

In a world filled with cursings it’s our responsibility as christians to bless others. (Romans 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.) A spoken blessing is more powerful than a curse and literally counteracts the words of cursing that have been spoken over people. Children who are told they will never amount to anything must be encouraged by someone with a blessing so that they will not follow the pathway of destruction. Adults who have given up on life and are living in despair need to hear the encouraging words of a blessing so that they might begin to live life to it’s fullest again. The down and out, frustrated, depressed people all around us need to be lifted up by a blessing spoken by a spirit empowered believer. Our words are more powerful than we can imagines. May we bless and not curse is my prayer.

Keeping it Real!
