Leviticus 11:45

For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Holiness is not a suggestion, it is a command! God detests sin because sin is why His Son had to die on a cross. When God sees sin it reminds Him of the torturous death of His Son. Sin is also the thing that separates God from His creation. Sin not only brings separation, it also brings pain and hardship on the participants and those related to them. God is the opposite of everything that sin is; God is love, peace and joy, He is about healing and restoration, and He never leaves us nor forsakes us. Because of the devastating effects of sin, we are to shun the very appearance of evil, we are to flee the temptations of sin, and we should detest everything that is evil. May we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us down the highway of holiness is my prayer.
