1 Samuel 8:4,5

Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah; (5) and they said to him, ” Behold, you have grown old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations.”

It seems like mankind has always struggled with taking responsibility for our actions. God has always wanted us to be in relationship with Him and to follow Him explicitly but we tend to want someone else to do the work of relationship for us. Instead of trying to find someone else to do it for us we should be seeking God with all our heart, all our soul, and all our strength until we hear from Him. He is no respecter of persons and He will speak to all those who seek Him. May we follow God with everything that is within us is my prayer.
