2 Chronicles 1:10

Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this great people of Yours?

Solomon proved his wisdom by the very first prayer he prayed as king. He could have prayed for anything but instead of praying for fame or fortune or the defeat of his enemies, he prayed for wisdom. He surveyed the call that God had placed on his life, the vast number of people he had to lead, and the weight of leadership that was placed upon him and humbly asked for God’s help. Recognizing his weakness before God opened the door for untold blessings. May we humble ourselves before God and ask for wisdom is my prayer.
