And Solomon slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of his father David; and his son Rehoboam reigned in his place.

Everybody dies, it’s actually just a part of life. When our appointed time is up, we will pass away and we will stand before God in judgement. The record of the kings serves as a reminder to us that what we do in this life matters greatly. God keeps a good account of everything we’ve done and judges us accordingly. There were good kings and bad kings but what they all had in common is that they all died and what really mattered was not how much gold they accumulated or kingdoms they conquered but rather what they did with their life and how they honored God. May we honor God in all we do and live pleasing before Him is my prayer.
