Job 20:4,5

4 Do you know this from of old, from the establishment of man on earth. 5 That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the godless momentary?

The Bible is replete with examples of the temporary happiness of the wicked and we are admonished to not consider their ways. Rather it’s the completion of a high rise building with their name on it’s wall or winning the lottery, the joy that the wicked experience is temporary and their successes always leave them empty and sad in the end. True joy can only be found in the service of Christ. Submitting our will to His produces everlasting joy that can not be taken from us no matter what life throws at us. May our joy be full as we rest in God’s strength is my prayer.
