Job 31:7,8
If my step has turned from the way, or my heart followed my eyes, or if any spot has stuck to my hands. (8) Let me sow and another eat, and let my crops be uprooted.
Job understood that where his eyes went is where his heart would follow. Often times when we speak about the lifestyle of the righteous and how we should pursue holiness people complain and say that we are meddling in something that doesn’t matter. After all, God is love and surely He is not concerned with how we live they say. But the truth is we warn people about what they see, what they hear, and where they go because these are the things that can draw our heart away from God. What we focus on is what we will become. Avoiding the very appearance of evil will help us stay close to God. May we keep our eyes on Jesus is my prayer.
