Proverbs 15:1

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

O that we could learn the ways of God instead of the ways of the world. The world says, “if someone does you wrong, do worse to them”, “if someone speaks evil at you, give it back to them in a larger portion”, but God says, “speak gently to the angry”. God’s ways are higher than man’s and although they may not make sense to us, His ways work. The world is accustomed to receiving anger and wrath, but when we speak gently, the spirit of peace counteracts the spirit of anger and calms the situation. May we quick to listen, slow to speak, and may wisdom and peace come out of our lips is my prayer.
