Jeremiah 37:2

But neither he nor his servants nor the people of the land listened to the words of the Lord which He spoke through Jeremiah the prophet.

This type of statement is repeated throughout the Bible, “they did not listen to the words of the Lord”. The sad thing about this is that today we have the same problem; people aren’t listening to the Word of the Lord. God speaks to us through His Word, He still speaks through prophetic utterance, and He still speaks through His pastors, but many still don’t listen. If you want to avoid the calamities of disobedience it’s time to listen for and to the Word of God. May we tune our ears into what God is saying is my prayer.
