Lamentations 1:20

See, O Lord, for I am in distress; my spirit is greatly troubled; my heart is overturned within me, for  I have been very rebellious.  In the street the sword slays; in the house it is like death.

Lamentations gives us a glimpse into the pain of the results of sin. Rebellion is not a metal to be worn around the neck like it’s some kind of prize achievement. Rebellion is the shameful beginning of turning away from God that eventually brings about pain, sorrow, and ultimately, destruction. The tears and agony of this pain can be avoided if we will just submit to God’s will and trust Him with our lives. May we never feel the pain that rebellion brings is my prayer.
