Matthew 16:6
6 And Jesus said to them, “Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
The Bible declares that in the last days there will be many false teachers distorting the truths of God’s Word. Jesus Himself warned against the false teachings that existing during His earthly ministry. As we navigate our spiritual journey with God, we must arm ourselves with His truth so that we will not fall prey to false teachings. The Pharisees and Sadducees serve as an example that even the teachings of the leaders of the Church should be measured against God’s Word. Often these false teachings come under the heading of new revelation or new doctrine that fall outside the norm of evangelical doctrine. New can be good, but new should always be weighed against Scripture. May we never fall prey to false teaching is my prayer.
