Luke 23:34

But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.

If you want to see the nature of Jesus, here it is; while his accusers are gambling for His clothes, Jesus is praying for God to forgive them. The words of His prayer are revealing; “they do not know what they are doing”. I wonder sometimes if people have any clue about what they are doing. Jesus seems to think they don’t, but in spite of our ignorance He prays for our forgiveness. What a loving Savior! May we never live our lives in ignorance is my prayer.
