Exodus 23:1

Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

Gossip, the very sound of the word makes me cringe. Gossip is talking falsely about another person. Sometimes it happens by misinformation, or wrong assumptions, but mostly it’s just made up stories about other people used to defame them. For whatever reason it’s done, God hates it. Momma said, “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all”. As christians we should be in the business of building others up, not tearing them down. So, when gossip comes your way stop it in it’s tracks, don’t listen to it. Speak good of others, bless your enemies, and watch God bless you. May we never be a participant in gossip is my prayer.
