Exodus 32:24

I said to them, “Whoever has any gold, let them tear it off. So they gave it to me, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”

It’s amazing what happens when people are left to themselves. We will create our own god and when confronted by God about how it happened we will lie and say it just came out of the fire. Before we get too judgmental about Aaron’s failure, that’s exactly what people do today. Instead of allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us to God, we create a god in our minds that fits what we believe and then blame God for not treating us the way we want Him to. Approaching God our way will never work and will ultimately produce death. Yield yourself to God, listen for His voice, obey His Spirit, and He will lead you into life everlasting. May we serve God with all our heart, mind, and strength is my prayer.
