Nehemiah 4:6
We kept at it, repairing and rebuilding the wall. The whole was was joined together and halfway to its intended height because the people had a heart for the work.
Nehemiah paints a picture of the crumpled walls and broken gates around Jerusalem. To restore Jerusalem’s walls they literally had to pick up the pieces and rebuild the walls. It wasn’t easy, they had opposition and a ton of work to do but they began restoring the walls one piece at a time and eventually the walls were complete. Sometimes life rips us apart and leaves in a pile of rubble. Let Nehemiah’s plan encourage you today, gather up the pieces, get to work rebuilding, and fight off the enemy. Keep at it, and you will be rebuilt. May we be restored by God is my prayer.
