Jeremiah 31:3 (The Message)

God told them, “I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!

Even though the history of the children of Israel is wrought with rebellion, false gods, idol worship, and debauchery, the one thing that rings true throughout their story is the love and faithfulness of God. When John said, “God is love” he got it right. God loves us no matter what we’ve done or what we’ve become. That doesn’t mean that He approves of those things it just means that His love never fades and although He may not be happy with us, He will always love us. It also does not mean that He will leave our sins unpunished, He fully expects us to fear Him and honor Him with loving obedience. May we return God’s love with our faithful obedience is my prayer.
