Galatians 2:15,16

^15-16 We Jews know that we have no advantage of birth over “non-Jewish sinners.” We know very well that we are not set right with God by rule-keeping but only through personal faith in Jesus Christ. How do we know? We tried it—and we had the best system of rules the world has ever seen! Convinced that no human being can please God by self-improvement, we believed in Jesus as the Messiah so that we might be set right before God by trusting in the Messiah, not by trying to be good.

Rules and regulations have never saved anybody; they can be guidelines for living morally, they can teach us how to treat one another, and they can show us how to be good citizens, but they can’t save us. Simply living better is no replacement for a new birth experience in Jesus. Jesus must become our Lord and Savior if we are to enter into Heaven some day. Commit yourself to following Christ and He will take care of the rules. May we trust Jesus with all our heart, mind, and strength is my prayer.
