John 15:3,4

You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 

Since Jesus is the Word, it is impossible to abide in Him if we’re not in the Word. The Word of God not only purifies us and renews our minds, but it also leads us into the productive life God has planned for us. Reading the Word, studying the Word, and memorizing the Word are all important to our spiritual success and keep us close to Jesus. May we abide in God’s word is my prayer.
