Matthew 2:9,10

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

One of the signs of Jesus birth was the star that guided the wise men to Him. What a perfect symbol of the Messiah, the light that shines in darkness, the Light of His Gospel showing us the way out of our sins and into the glorious presence of God. Wise men followed that star then, and wise men still follow the light of Jesus now. May we live in the Light is my prayer.
