Matthew 3:1,2

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

It’s no coincidence that the first note worthy message recorded after the birth of Jesus was the message of repentance. There had to be a foundational message laid that would set the stage for salvation, that message is repentance. Without repentance there can be no salvation because without repentance we’re still trapped in our sins. May we turn away from sin and follow Jesus is my prayer.
