Genesis 16:1,2

Now Sarai, Abram’s wife had borne him no children, and she had an Egyptian maid whose name was Hagar. 2 So Sarai said to Abram, “Now behold, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Please go in to my maid; perhaps I will obtain children through her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

Taking matters in our own hands is not a good replacement for obedience to God. Patience is the operative word when it comes to pleasing God. God’s ways are higher than our ways and His timetable doesn’t always meet our expectations. Our patience will only make us stronger as our faith is rewarded with the fulfillment of what God has spoken. May we be patient in our quest to trust God is my prayer.
