Exodus 20:2,3 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

There’s nothing like curling up in your easy chair with your favorite snack at the end of the day. For some people that means popcorn, for others, it’s ice cream, but for my Dad it was a bologna sandwich. That’s right, good ole Oscar Mayer bologna on white bread with miracle whip. He could eat a pile of those things. Of course, this bothered my Mom that he would eat such unhealthy food, so, she decided to replace his all-beef Oscar Mayer bologna with some turkey bologna. It was amazing, Dad took one bite of a sandwich with turkey bologna on it and immediately asked my Mom what was wrong with his sandwich? He knew the difference right away. He had such a keen sense of the taste of Oscar Mayer bologna that you could not trick him into eating anything else. This is where we should be in our relationship with God, we should know Him so well that  no other god can slip into our lives. Not a person, not a habit, and not a man-made god, could take hold on our life if we knew God well enough. Let me encourage you to spend quality time with God on a regular basis so that you will truly know Him. When we do, we will not want anything else but Him. May we serve God with all our heart, soul, and strength is my prayer.
