Ephesians 3:14,15 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named.

God surely knew what He was doing when he created the family institution. Nothing compares to the strength and stability we get from a properly functioning, God centered, family. In the family we find unconditional love, nurturing, encouragement and assistance when all other institutions have failed. There is a connection that family members have that we can have with no one else. My brother and I can just look at each other and  start laughing because we know what each other is thinking. The security found in the family brings strength of purpose and stability to navigate the unstable waters of life. The family has it’s struggles as well, but a God centered family always has the ability to work through any problem together. A God centered, properly organized, Church is no different than our personal family. While traveling as Evangelists for 10 years, our family found the strength and stability of the Church to be a very powerful thing. We could get in the suburban and drive 2 days to minister in a Church we had never been to, to meet 100 people we had never met, and to be in a state we had never been to, and immediately feel the family connection with those people. After just a few moments together we would feel like we had known them all our lives. It was so comforting to know that we were with family. If you’re not a part of a local Church let me encourage you to find one you can connect with. There is no perfect Church, just like there is no perfect family, but without the support of the Church your spiritual walk is going to be very difficult. May we all find strength and stability in the family of God is my prayer.
