Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Years ago one of my mentors taught me a principle that I have tried to live by, let’s call it the law of acquisition. The principle is simple, he said,”if you want to leave a healthy estate to your children and your grandchildren, continue to add to what you have”. This principle has been a challenge to maintain but I have learned the value of it by patiently building on each success I have enjoyed. About 15 years ago my brother and I attended a close out sale of an oilfield company that was going out of business. I was blessed to get to purchase several things that day at some really low prices. One of the things I bought was a Rigid pipe threading set that was worth about 4 times what I paid for it. I remember telling my brother that I just wished it had the tripod stand that went with it. I have used that pipe threader many times over the years hoping one day to find the tripod stand for it. This week, after 15 years of searching, I attended a storage container sale and was blessed to purchase the matching tripod stand for a fraction of the cost of a new one. I was able to complete the set, it took some time, but it was worth the effort. Let me encourage you to hang on to the spiritual gains you have made in your life and allow God to add to them today. Let Him increase your love, your joy, your peace and your faith. Let Him complete the set, so to speak. May God build us up is my prayer.
