Zechariah 1:6 But My words and My statutes, which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not take hold of you?

I was underneath the back fender of our car doing a brake job when all of sudden someone wrapped their arms around me and picked me up off the  ground. I’m not the smallest man around and being lifted off the ground is not something that usually happens to me. Dangling in the air with arms squeezing around me, I began to lose the ability to breath. I remember thinking that if I don’t do something quick I’m going to pass out.  That’s when I heard the voice of my brother laughing behind me. When he let me down and I caught my breath I said, “I was wondering who had a hold of me”. That’s a good question for us to ask ourselves this morning. Who or what has a hold of me? Life is filled with all kinds of distractions and temptations that the enemy uses to try to get a hold of our lives. What we must do is to make sure that what has a hold of us is the right thing. With the right things taking a hold of our lives there will be no room for any unwanted distractions. May God take a hold of our lives is my prayer.
