Colosians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

A while back Carol and I went to look at a foreclosure near our house. The house was vacant and all though there was a sign that said beware of dog, there was no signs of a dog either. After looking at the front of the house I proceeded to enter the gate into the back yard. I had only walked a few feet into the back yard when I was greeted by a rather agitated Pit Bull. While he took a second to think about how to eat me, I sprinted back to the gate. I barely got the gate closed behind me when he hit the gate and began to try to tear it down. Of course, we got in the truck and left and when my heart stopped racing I told Carol that the next time I see a beware of dog sign I will believe it. The moral of the story is this, “just because you don’t see the dog it doesn’t mean he’s not there”. False ideology and philosophy are all around us today and the warning is in front of us. May we walk in the Word and be sensitive to the Holy Ghost is my prayer.
