Seek Him

Deuteronomy 4:29-31 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find Him, if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. (30) When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto His voice; (31) For the Lord thy God is a merciful God; He will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which He aware unto them.

My Dad was a very talented and determined man. He was notorious for finding things that were lost. One time a lady at our Church lost a ring while attending service. Everyone looked for that ring and couldn’t find it. That afternoon, when everyone else had given up the search, my Dad went back up to the Church and searched until he found her ring. I guess you could say he was relentless. God says many times in scripture that we are to seek Him. That directive seems to have been lost in this society. We talk about wanting revival and even reformation but our prayer meetings are the least attended event of the week and fasting has been totally forgotten. Seeking God means paying the price, sacrificing our time, and desiring God more than anything. Here’s the good news; God says if we will seek Him, we will find Him. The key word here is if, remember yesterday? The promise of finding God is contingent upon our seeking Him. Put on a search and see if you don’t find Him. May we seek God with all our heart and soul is my prayer.
