Ezekiel 44:18 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.
1Thessalonians 5:22 says, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” and yet sin has become so normalized that even church members have no problem with ungodliness. The preaching heard in most pulpits today has little or no content on the subject of sin and most of it dwells on the blessings of God and His desire to make your life better. Ezekiel said that the priests are supposed to teach the people the difference between what’s holy and what’s profane. 1Peter 2:9 says that we are the royal priesthood and that we should show forth Christ’s virtues. What I’m getting at is this; Christians must reprove the world. When was the last time you told someone that their actions were wrong and that they had consequences? A few weeks ago I was doing some maintenance at a local warehouse. One of the employees was using extremely vile language and was making everyone miserable with his attitude as he spewed his venom. He was young enough to be my son so I very lovingly took him off to the side and told him that there was a much better way to communicate than the way he was currently doing it. His reaction was one of total shock and I could tell by his reaction that he had probably never been talked to the way I talked to him. These kinds of confrontations are not easy but who ever said being a Christian was easy and by the way it is our duty to show sinners the error of their ways. A few moments later that young man approached me to converse more. May we all take the message of Christ to the world is my prayer.
