Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it.
A very wealthy man once said before his death that the one thing he feared the most was leaving his fortune to his children. He said that his wealth had been a tremendous burden and he didn’t want his children to be corrupted by money. We’ve seen it over and over again, how people are corrupted by money. Whether it’s politicians, movie stars, or athletes, we’ve seen what the love of money can do to people. But, God has a wealth plan that adds no sorrow with it. Laying up treasures in Heaven and being content with our needs met is a very peaceful way to live. Knowing that God is building our future and He is also meeting our needs now removes the stress of seeking after riches. When my Grandfather Lee passed away he didn’t have much money and very little possessions but he was never worried, he was always joyous, and his needs were always met. He had a deep and everlasting relationship with God that surpassed anything money could buy. The blessings God had bestowed upon him made him a very rich man indeed. May we all be content with what we have and be blessed by God is my prayer.
