Matthew 24:37-39 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered unto the ark. (39) And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Years ago I wrote in the margin of my Bible beside these Scriptures, “Jesus words about end time prosperity”. Jesus looked into the last days of time and saw a world caught up in itself. More worried about working and providing for themselves than they were about seeking God and His will for their lives. The busyness that tends to take over our lives distracts us from God and what He has planned for us. Jesus said that the world seeks after these things but that His followers find their needs met in Him (Mat. 6:33). While we look to companies, doctors, and politicians to meet our needs, and our own drive to succeed steals our devotional time with God away, God looks throughout the earth to show Himself mighty on the behalf of those whose hearts are turned toward Him. Determine within yourself to not allow the world’s system to press you into it’s mold. Seek God and His righteousness, seek His will, and trust Him to meet your needs. Christians who do the Lord’s will and live His way do not have to fear layoffs and depressions. God will meet our needs. May we not lose sight of the prize as Jesus prepares to come get His bride is my prayer.
