Matthew 9:36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
My Grandmother was the most compassionate person I’ve ever known in my life. She could just hear tell of someone’s pain and she would begin to cry. I’ve seen her on her knees for hours praying and pleading with God for someone’s need. Their pain would become her pain and she would be moved to intercede for them. Sometimes the cares of life tend to cause us to be callused to the needs of others. We can even get to the place that we just don’t care about others and their needs. Jesus is moved with compassion when He sees the plight of mankind and He expects His people to allow His compassion to flow through us. If the world is to know that God cares, then we must care. We must allow ourselves to be moved with compassion, not just an emotional response, but an intentional move toward helping people out of their plight. May we all take the opportunity to show someone compassion today is my prayer.
