1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

I would have never thought as a child that there would be people who would get rich by selling purified water but that’s exactly what’s happened. All of the large soda water bottlers are making money bottling water. They take the local tap water, run it through a purifier, bottle it, and sell it for huge profits. This business flourishes because pure water is not readily available. Even the water we get out of our tap in our home is run through a filter in an attempt to get out the impurities. John said that every person that is in relationship with God purifies himself because God is pure. The question is how! Let me give you a few simple ways we can purify ourselves:

1. Read God’s Word.

2. Listen to godly music.

3. Spend quality time with other christians.

4. Attend Church regularly.

5. Avoid places where you will be tempted.

These are just a few ways to purify oneself but there are many other ways that may be affective for you. The idea is not to fulfill some list but to work at purifying ourselves so that we can emulate our Father in Heaven. May we shun the very appearance of evil and pursue holiness is my prayer.
