Daniel 3:16-18 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. (17)If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. (18)But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” 

It’s a very liberating thing when God’s people have a revelation of His sovereignty. It releases us from fear and doubt, it raises our faith to new heights, and it confounds the enemy. Believing that God has a plan and that He has our best interest in mind sets us up for some incredible miracles. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are about to be thrown into a raging furnace but they do not exhibit fear or doubt, they don’t even presume to know what the will of God is, they just trust in His sovereignty. The miracle that ensues shows the power in trusting in God. Not only did they not burn, but they didn’t even smell like smoke when they stepped out of the furnace. Let me encourage you today that you can trust in the sovereign plan of God. May we all make Jesus famous as we trust Him in every situation.
