Matthew 21:22 And whatsoever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

I heard a professional fighter say last night that the reason another fighter had gotten a title shot was not because he was necessarily the next best fighter in line, but he got the title shot because he asked for it. He went on to say that most people just don’t ask for it, they just sit back and wait on life to come to them. His words reminded me of Matthew 21:22 and Jesus challenge to ask, believe, and receive. Too many times we just sit back and take whatever life gives us instead of aggressively pursuing the things we want. God’s directive to us is to ask! Ask Him for direction, ask Him for His will to be done in our lives, ask Him for His wisdom, and to ask Him for everything. God responds to His people when they ask of Him. May we take our petitions to our Heavenly Father and enjoy the blessings of His responses is my prayer.
