2Corinthians 2:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

In my secular business we spend most of our time remodeling homes. Removing old and outdated fixtures and replacing them with new ones, repainting walls, and even redesigning floor plans. We deal with lots of dust, mold, and insects. But, it seems no matter how hard we try remodeling just doesn’t compare with new construction. With new construction we start with a new level slab with no cracks. The walls and rooms are square and straight and the electrical and plumbing is up to code. With new construction everything is fresh and clean and shiny. Just like an old house that has settled, cracked and weathered our lives can become a mess too. Remodeling is always an option. You could read a self help book, change a habit, or find a new friend but only God can make you into a new creature. He can wipe away the old and raise us up new again. As we enter into new year may we allow God to make us new is my prayer.
