Trusting God

1Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.

Since the Bible tells us that money answereth all things, (Ecclesiastes 10:19) it’s obvious that it must be a part of our lives. However, Paul told Timothy that we are not to trust in riches but rather we are to trust in God. Earlier in this same chapter we’re told that the love of money is the root of all evil, (1Tim. 6:10) and we should flee the sorrows of pursuing money and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness. To obtain the proper balance of money and godly living we must learn to trust God, not money. Sure, we must work and yes, we do need money to function in this world system, but we can never forget that God is able to provide for His own. As long as we do our part and trust Him He will meet our needs according to His riches in glory.  May we trust God with everything is my prayer.
