Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

It seems like in everything we do in life we are judged by how good we are. How far we can throw a ball or how good we can catch it, how high we can jump or if we can stick the landing. We’re judged on how well we can cook and if we can put together an in style outfit or not. But the crazy thing about receiving eternal life is that we can never be good enough to receive salvation because the ultimate sacrifice of  God’s own Son is something we can never attain to. It is only by His mercy that salvation is possible. He alone can wash our sins away and it is only by His Spirit that we can be renewed. If you’re trying to work yourself into heaven be assured that you will only work in vain. Access into heaven is by receiving Christ as Lord and Savior and that is the only way heaven is possible. May we make Christ our Lord and Savior today is my prayer.
